Colour Puncture with Sue McSweeney

An informal chat with Nurse Practitioner Sue McSweeney on the breadth of colour puncture, (as opposed to colour therapy). We touch on the value of combining natural therapies like medical marijuana or aromatics to naturalise healing, and to maintain optimal health for patients with ongoing conditions like back pain.

Sue is a Nurse Practitioner based in the United States and has 25 years experience in urgent and primary care. Widely travelled and trained across an array of alternative healing therapies, Sue currently works in Hawaii and Massachusetts, and is in the process of setting up a private clinic where she will combine her skills in western and eastern medicine.

Karen Seinor

Welcome Sue, it is absolutely great to see you

00:06.25

Sue

25 years.

00:07.48

Karen Seinor

Now everyone, this is Sue McSweeney. Sue is a nurse practitioner based in Hawaii in the US and she is an amazing lady and she's here today to talk with us about colour puncture.

00:23.91

Karen Seinor

So, if she's got lots and lots of skills. How long have you been working as a nurse practitioner, Sue?

00:30.46

Sue

twenty five years

00:32.26

Karen Seinor

Yeah. So, and based in Hawaii and on the mainland.

00:37.59

Sue

Massachusetts.

00:37.92

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah. Massachusetts.

00:39.01

Sue

Yeah.

00:39.42

Karen Seinor

That's right. So you've got a big background professionally in the medical field, but also ah really avid interest in alternative therapies and natural ways of feeling.

00:51.83

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

00:52.12

Sue

Yes. Yes.

00:54.49

Karen Seinor

So, I don't even know how to introduce you really, but just thinking about um colour therapy, or do you call it colour puncture? What's the correct term?

01:05.59

Sue

Color puncture.

01:06.82

Karen Seinor

Colour puncture.

01:07.00

Sue

esoteric medicine, which is like a combo of energetic and esoteric combination.

01:12.78

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah, okay. So you've been doing that a while now, yeah?

01:17.92

Sue

I'm actually certified a couple of years ago, but I have not been practicing yet. Just be I got caught up in the whole COVID um you know situation.

01:27.96

Sue

So I'm just having to refresh myself and read through. And it's actually so complex that you know it's good that I'm doing a whole refresher with a book that I just bought.

01:39.14

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah, right. Now, you've got some really interesting equipment. Do you want to just talk to us about what got you into colour therapy? What what piqued your interest in?

01:50.42

Sue

Oh, sure. So one of my spiritual teachers um told me about it years ago and you know, every once in a while she would bring it up and she thought that she saw, she could see me working with color and light.

02:04.45

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

02:04.73

Sue

um So I actually had some treatments in Hawaii and then when I was ready to get certified, I joined a class and It's funny because it is so big and complex. It's a different, whole different language.

02:27.00

Sue

The second um time that we were in class, like for a four day workshop, I thought to myself, I'm not going to continue this. um This is too, this is over my head. Like there's too much memorization. There's too many moving parts. I,

02:44.27

Sue

My mind couldn't like sort of wrap its head around it. So I told the teacher that I said, I and don't understand this. This is over my head.

02:51.73

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

02:51.86

Sue

And then later that afternoon when we were actually doing treatments on each other, i was like, I had such an amazing treatment. i'm like, okay, um I'm going to go forth with this, you know? So it is, it's a pretty overwhelming, there's so much to it actually.

03:09.36

Karen Seinor

yeah

03:10.02

Sue

So I haven't even really like begun to, you know, work with it that much. So, um, and you know, I have a basic understanding of, um, how it works. It's like acupuncture points and, um,

03:28.54

Sue

but it's more than that. You know, they have different zones um that hit your meridian. So instead of a needle, it's it's a light.

03:42.49

Sue

So I don't know.

03:44.19

Karen Seinor

Yeah, yeah, I can see that really well, yeah.

03:44.44

Sue

um You can see that. Yeah, so there's different, these are all different colors and they're used for different things, the colors. So it actually hits your meridian and then the the light and the color will actually hit the point and give information to the cells.

04:00.34

Sue

You know, so this is blue. Here's like a yellow one.

04:03.53

Karen Seinor

Oh, wow.

04:03.82

Sue

So yes, the colors do different things um for different reasons. And like here's a rose and that's ah like a whole different, there's gray rods that really move things.

04:10.17

Karen Seinor

Mm.

04:18.72

Sue

um So there's very there's a lot of different like assessment tools they use. This was created by naturopath in Germany named Peter Mandel. I think he's in his early 80s, and he's still he has ah the Mandel Institute in Germany.

04:37.97

Sue

And his sons, I think, have worked there as well. I haven't been yet. I tried to go a couple of years ago, but they were having flooding, so I i never made it. So he...

04:47.28

Karen Seinor

Yeah. What? Yep.

04:49.35

Sue

so he has been doing this for over thirty years So it taps into this different...

04:54.29

Karen Seinor

but

04:58.00

Sue

Okay, so there's different diagnostic tools they use, um including... um

05:08.18

Sue

what is it like curly and light. They can see blockages in your energetic system through fingertips.

05:10.70

Karen Seinor

yeah

05:15.77

Sue

They use the iris, the tongue, the face, the yeah.

05:17.79

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

05:20.98

Karen Seinor

Oh, really?

05:22.56

Sue

So there's different diagnostic tools and things they use, but then there's all kinds of treatments like, so, so for the color, they have the light color, they have, um,

05:37.38

Sue

I forget what it's called right now, but there's a little machine and and it taps into different brainwave, like brainwaves.

05:44.65

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

05:44.88

Sue

And you can like, so you could put it on a modality, like of a dream state, for instance, and it, and then it hits your points. And then when you go into dream time, it could actually bring up things for you at your own, you know, pace.

05:59.29

Sue

So you're able to like, you know, tap into trauma, for instance.

06:03.23

Karen Seinor

Whoa.

06:03.71

Sue

So yeah, it's pretty complex. It's, So they have that, they have crystal therapy. I have one. So these are placed in certain points where they're instructed and you know, how to so they also, you know, work in different.

06:13.97

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

06:19.42

Sue

um

06:20.68

Karen Seinor

Oh, that's...

06:20.77

Sue

they They have really pretty crystals. Yeah.

06:23.90

Karen Seinor

Wow.

06:24.00

Sue

And then it has the whole, whole, you know, holographic thing. Can you see it?

06:29.62

Karen Seinor

Oh, that looks...

06:30.14

Sue

Okay. Or it, yeah.

06:30.97

Karen Seinor

Yeah, it looks beautiful. yeah

06:33.26

Sue

Yeah.

06:34.81

Karen Seinor

a

06:35.34

Sue

And they have oil, he's invented an oil. So you could put like an oil, for instance, on your, say your wrist area and then use like the orange.

06:46.54

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

06:46.75

Sue

And that's like the joy zone, for instance, right? So then you rub rub here and then the color will get in through the oil and for transport.

06:56.04

Karen Seinor

Oh, wow. So that, that,

06:57.31

Sue

Yeah.

06:58.95

Karen Seinor

um elevates the joy in your system or in your body or your life?

07:03.06

Sue

Right. So it, right.

07:03.51

Karen Seinor

How does that

07:04.45

Sue

And it goes into, it goes into the, the different parts of your brain. And it also taps into, you know, prenatal, you know, being in the womb, past lives, they have the component of astrology in there.

07:20.66

Sue

It's a very um complex system.

07:21.84

Karen Seinor

work? Holy crap.

07:24.04

Sue

Yeah. Yeah, so to really explain it thoroughly, you know, you'd probably need someone a little more schooled on it than I, but that's sort of, you know, a basic rundown of it.

07:38.54

Karen Seinor

That sounds amazing.

07:40.70

Sue

Mm-hmm.

07:41.97

Karen Seinor

Wow, I love the sound of that. That sounds like a whole life kind of journey, really.

07:49.07

Sue

Mm-hmm.

07:50.96

Karen Seinor

So ah you do you think you will go to Germany and check out the...

07:55.03

Sue

I would love to go to Germany. i will definitely go to Germany to to have treatments done. And yeah, I would love to go see the Institute and all that. And I am going to open in my own practice.

08:05.23

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

08:07.28

Sue

And so I'm in the beginning stages of that, where I'm going to be doing Western medicine and as well as Eastern. So I i will be offering color puncture other things that, you know, alternative Reiki energy work.

08:20.01

Karen Seinor

Oh, that sounds amazing. Yeah. Beautiful. Absolutely needed, isn't it?

08:27.13

Sue

Yes.

08:27.31

Karen Seinor

Yeah. so when you have a when you have a treatment, what what sort of happens?

08:34.37

Sue

So it's different, obviously different for all individuals, just like acupuncture, you know, it just could open up a block and all of a sudden, you know, your heart could open or, you

08:41.31

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

08:46.28

Sue

um you know, it could be used for trauma where you don't have memories and then you pop into certain parts of the brain and that will bring up some, yeah, some, you know, the memory will come up.

08:56.55

Karen Seinor

Ooh, okay.

09:00.41

Sue

So you'll actually different memories of childhood memories or whatever.

09:00.54

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

09:06.45

Sue

and then, and then, so you have that, and then you actually have the treatment to calm the endocrine system and, you know, with the different colors and, um,

09:18.71

Sue

You know, they can bring the the treatments home for the brainwave therapy to do that on their own.

09:24.19

Karen Seinor

Oh, really?

09:25.93

Sue

So there's self-care things they can actually do with it at home as well until waiting for their next.

09:33.21

Karen Seinor

um So they that's amazing, actually. So it's really ah an entire system. right So you go and you have a session, whatever it is, is dealt with, and then there's a possibility.

09:41.91

Sue

Really is.

09:46.83

Karen Seinor

of So they create a recording for you to listen to. or is it frequency?

09:52.30

Sue

Um, it's actually the brain it's brainwave therapy. It's a little, um, I wish I could remember the name of the, the box, but it's, um, let me see if I have it written here anywhere.

10:05.48

Sue

Um, I don't know, but it's brainwave therapy. So say you, you have the little machine and then there's a band that goes around your wrist or your ankles or, and then it, it stimulates certain points to hit different parts of your brain.

10:19.86

Karen Seinor

Ah, right. So it's this frequency that's being sent into the body, basically.

10:24.47

Sue

Yes.

10:26.42

Karen Seinor

Oh, that is so cool.

10:29.25

Sue

So interesting.

10:29.20

Karen Seinor

So, oh, my God, that's that's way more than I actually thought it was, to be honest.

10:30.10

Sue

Mm-hmm.

10:35.43

Karen Seinor

I was thinking it was just about um sending colour into the different acupressure points, and that was it. That's kind of what I thought.

10:43.69

Sue

No, and they have they have basic treatments for basic things like, you know, like a a respiratory problem or whatever. But they also have extremely complex modality that they'll do certain treatments for deeper and heavier things, you know.

11:01.95

Karen Seinor

Yeah, wow. Wow. So how complicated is the equipment that you need to have as a practitioner, like for you? um The stuff, that the wand that you showed us with the different um crystals and the colours and things, is that enough to get going or does it have to be complex with all these things

11:25.85

Sue

Yeah, this is a basic set. So the Perlux system is enough to get going with it. And then you can just add on as you go along, you know.

11:34.20

Karen Seinor

Yeah, right.

11:35.79

Sue

You know, what I showed you is all I have. I have, you know. the four bigger crystals and I'm going to add the grays into this next and then the basic set.

11:41.46

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

11:45.09

Sue

And I have this one one crystal. This is the earth disc, but they have like the dream disc and they have maybe four or five of these. And then there are smaller crystals for different you know things.

11:55.86

Karen Seinor

Oh, wow. Wow. That sounds amazing.

12:01.45

Sue

It is, it's amazing actually.

12:03.89

Karen Seinor

So when you've experienced a treatment yourself, I mean, can you step me through, like, what actually happens?

12:14.25

Sue

Um, well we practice, you know, it was the students, we were all practicing on each other where the, and then the teacher was assisting with us, but, um, they're like touch points on your fingers that will tell that you could check up points that you can check, uh, with each other to see, you know, where you maybe had some trauma occur. doesn't have to be trauma, but like blockages. So, you know, different wherever it hurts the most is like, it relates to a certain age.

12:44.37

Karen Seinor

Oh, really?

12:45.75

Sue

Yeah. So, and so you can start with that and then see a ah blockage um or somewhere that needs treatment.

12:46.68

Karen Seinor

Wow.

12:51.65

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

12:53.55

Sue

And then you can work on the, say the four-year-old, you know, and then, and then there might be like a mother, father treatment or something like that.

12:56.22

Karen Seinor

Yeah, right.

13:03.24

Karen Seinor

Oh, my God.

13:03.37

Sue

And then, so yeah, they can do the treatment and then sometimes you can see things right away or, but sometimes it'll take a little bit for it to actually like you can,

13:15.31

Sue

to sit and marinate so you can actually see the progress of it and how well it worked, I guess. Or what comes up for you because everybody's so individual.

13:25.77

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

13:28.36

Karen Seinor

Yeah, so I guess that um if somebody was really wanting to do some deep work, i I'm guessing it would be a little bit like counselling.

13:34.42

Sue

Deep.

13:38.39

Karen Seinor

You go in sometimes with a certain issue and then as you start to talk, something else will come up and then something else will come up.

13:44.93

Sue

Exactly.

13:46.43

Karen Seinor

Yeah, yeah.

13:47.09

Sue

Yeah. So a lot of, a lot of therapists use this in conjunct with, you know, like massage therapists or physical therapists who use it for pain.

13:56.32

Karen Seinor

Right.

13:57.07

Sue

Psychotherapists will use it for those other certain things like to tap into trauma or yeah.

14:02.33

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

14:04.84

Sue

So yeah.

14:04.76

Karen Seinor

Wow.

14:08.91

Karen Seinor

That's amazing. so So you mentioned like a respiratory condition. So even like in your own practice, if you were seeing a client in person, you could be...

14:23.09

Karen Seinor

um you know, going through your usual physical checks, giving them meds or whatever, and offer that as well.

14:31.03

Sue

Correct. So they have an acute cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, then I would use the certain colors with the certain meridians for that. Or if they came in with back pain, you know, we could do just, you know, a color for the back for the the exact points, but it it might tap into something that's so much deeper.

14:38.43

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

14:49.75

Sue

And then it would take off from there about weird this originated because it all originates most likely from, you know emotional areas.

14:51.43

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah.

15:00.38

Karen Seinor

Yeah, exactly, yeah.

15:01.33

Sue

A lot of times, not always, but a lot of times it will.

15:05.70

Karen Seinor

And you would see that as ah as an as a nurse practitioner, I imagine you would build up relationships with your patients over time and you'd start to know their history and you'd be able to link together in the same way the ah therapist, for want of a better term, like a counsellor or whatever, would do.

15:24.79

Karen Seinor

You would have those points.

15:26.09

Sue

Sure. Yeah, there's, I mean, look, I mean, a lot of the general population has depression, anxiety, for whatever reasons.

15:32.44

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

15:34.74

Sue

And, and, you know, I do primary care, urgent care. And I mean, yeah, you use, I see them for high cholesterol, but we all was, oh, how you sleeping? Oh, I'm not sleeping good.

15:44.98

Sue

I haven't slept good in 10 years. I sleep four hours, and, you know, and then it goes from there. So they're coming in for cholesterol, you know, some people would rather just come into a primary and not be

15:50.56

Karen Seinor

yeah

15:55.71

Sue

go to a therapist, you know, there's still of that mind where people don't want to be coined, you know, nuts or whatever you call it, right? Right.

16:04.08

Karen Seinor

we will

16:04.30

Sue

So they'd rather go, right. But they'd rather go to a primary and then it can come up in there. So we you know, as a primary care person, you, you're always seeing some sort of,

16:17.76

Sue

you know, emotional disturbances or it's not the right word I want to really use for it, but. You know, issues. We all have them.

16:28.89

Karen Seinor

Yeah, of course we do. So something like... depression, what sort of, like is there certain colours or um things that you would use for something like that?

16:44.87

Sue

Well, sure, yes. And that that would be something I'd have to get back to you on. But like, you know, a lot of orange, you know, blue is very calming. So if their nervous system has been sort of blown out, you know, then you use blue for calming, orange for, you know more joyful, things like that.

16:52.23

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

16:58.42

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

17:00.90

Karen Seinor

yeah

17:01.63

Sue

But ultimately, I think what would happen is you do treatments and then you can see, you might you may be able to see where some of the depression is actually stemming from.

17:11.62

Karen Seinor

yeah so yeah

17:12.34

Sue

If you go into like different, time periods or ages, or it could be even prenatal so or pre-verbal, so they can't even put their fingers on it. You know what I mean? It could have been like an unwanted pregnancy.

17:25.02

Sue

So the mom was super like, you know, depressed or whatever. And but then the baby has no idea into an adult.

17:32.54

Karen Seinor

yeah

17:33.21

Sue

And then they can actually tap into that.

17:38.42

Karen Seinor

This is so much deeper and broader than just let's wear orange to feel happier.

17:41.90

Sue

Mm-hmm.

17:45.03

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah, amazing. Because, I mean, I know myself, you know, certain colours will make me feel more confident and some colours my skin looks better, things like that.

17:53.31

Sue

sure

17:57.74

Karen Seinor

And you do feel different when you wear different colours, but this is like off the charts really.

18:04.44

Sue

yeah i mean well you paint your room a certain color for the calming effect right like

18:04.48

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

18:08.75

Karen Seinor

yeah Yeah, and there's, you know, scientific, there's evidence-based stuff for that.

18:14.69

Sue

course.

18:16.11

Karen Seinor

So just out of curiosity, like in that world of colour puncture rather than colour therapy, has there been, are you aware of any, because I have no clue, is there any sort of scientific stuff they've done?

18:32.73

Karen Seinor

Have they done any research on that?

18:35.26

Sue

Well, he has Peter, you know, I'm sure plenty of people have sure there's a whole you know of callotherapy, but Peter Mandel is a, he's naturopath, but he's also a scientist.

18:46.15

Sue

And I know he's really well supported in the medical community there in Germany, where they're a little, little more open, I think, to those kinds.

18:50.16

Karen Seinor

yeah

18:54.67

Sue

So he has a lot of science to back up a lot these things.

18:57.45

Karen Seinor

right so if somebody wanted to go a little deeper with this um what would you suggest that they do if they want to sort of explore it more is there a book or a um

19:14.16

Sue

If they wanted to become a therapist or they wanted to do their own treatments.

19:18.40

Karen Seinor

Oh, can you do your own treatments?

19:20.91

Sue

No, no, that I meant get, you don know, find, find a, you know, an experienced therapist.

19:26.13

Karen Seinor

Therapist. Yeah, so any of that, any of that really.

19:28.02

Sue

Right.

19:30.89

Karen Seinor

So how would you find somebody apart from Google?

19:35.83

Sue

Oh, I think you can go on a basic, you know, color puncture website and see therapists near you.

19:39.69

Karen Seinor

Yeah, okay. Yeah, okay. All right, I'll check that out and have a look. Yeah, beautiful. And... You mentioned a book. What sort of... whats is that in the game?

19:50.76

Sue

Oh, I got this. i've been this is

19:56.01

Karen Seinor

Energy Psychon...

19:56.55

Sue

This does a lot of initial treatments, basic treatments, what the colors can be used for. And i mean, it's pretty hefty, hefty book, but it goes into a lot of the modality, the treatments and the diagnostic tools.

20:05.27

Karen Seinor

Yeah, that's thick.

20:12.64

Sue

And it's good. diagnostic tools and good

20:17.66

Karen Seinor

Yeah, wow. I love it So, i don't even know what to ask now. Like, um

20:29.76

Karen Seinor

I'm sort of blown away by the depth of it. That's kind of surprised me, to be honest. Yeah. Because it never even occurred to me that you'd be putting some pressure on fingers to find out an age. I mean, I've never even heard of that.

20:47.66

Sue

I know it hits your subconscious, your you know, your conscious, your unconscious, level you know, levels in different parts of the brains with, yeah, I know it's such a big field and such a huge modality that I'm just a baby, you know, starting this.

21:03.61

Karen Seinor

um my god

21:06.38

Sue

So

21:08.39

Karen Seinor

Are you excited about it?

21:10.09

Sue

I'm excited.

21:11.12

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

21:11.68

Sue

Really excited. I have been, i just got sort of sidetracked, you know, with COVID over the last couple of years and then just, you know, right.

21:15.57

Karen Seinor

Yeah. things life Yeah.

21:20.11

Sue

Working and yeah.

21:21.66

Karen Seinor

yeah Okay. All right. So what else are you going to, just jumping over, like you mentioned that you're starting opening a new clinic. So,

21:32.70

Karen Seinor

You do a bunch of different things as well, don't you? Like, so you've got, you know, your normal medical stuff, but you're going to offer the colour puncture, Reiki.

21:43.99

Karen Seinor

What else have you got in your...

21:44.61

Sue

Yeah. Um, so yeah, i would, you know, i my medical is, you know, primary care, urgent care mostly. um and it just depends if I do fully online or, you know, cause then I would be doing long distance, um, energy handling all that.

22:03.55

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah.

22:04.98

Sue

But, um, what else that I, you know, I can do medical marijuana licensing and in the the state of Hawaii, but also, um, You know, alternatively, I've been to a three year energy medicine school so I can do sense of energy work. I've been certified in Reiki so I can do long distance Reiki and on hands, Reiki treatments.

22:30.74

Sue

um

22:30.81

Karen Seinor

yeah

22:32.43

Sue

What else is there? Yeah, I had a whole list of things I can sort of offer, you know, the color puncture.

22:37.90

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

22:41.97

Sue

yeah so we'll see where it takes me. I have... ah I haven't sort of zoned in on exactly how it's going to look. what you know And there's all there's a lot of alternative things coming up too, like weight loss amino acids, the GLP-1s, NAD injections.

23:02.56

Sue

So I could also offer those. So I'm just in the middle of trying to figure out you know where I want to set up, whether it's in a physical location online, both.

23:16.07

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

23:16.76

Sue

but so those are some of the things, you know, I would like to offer.

23:19.03

Karen Seinor

Yeah. And so, like, obviously I'm in Australia, so if you were doing, because I'm sure that somebody's going to medical marijuana, how do I get onto that?

23:29.87

Karen Seinor

But, of course, that is only um within the state of Hawaii, isn't it, because that's where you're licensed.

23:34.64

Sue

Correct. And I have to meet them in person. you know, to actually, you know, give the initial card and then the renewals I can do online, but.

23:36.82

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

23:42.00

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, fascinating. that's That's a big thing, isn't it? um I know here in Australia, or I think I know in Australia that, so maybe it's just a story I'm making up, but um my understanding here is that it's actually quite complicated to actually get the product and that there's very...

24:03.80

Sue

Oh, so we have a lot of shops here and um it's it's legal in most of the states. So there's medical marijuana, you know, dispensaries all over the United States, extravagant ones, you know, but Hawaii, it's not legal, but there's a lot of people who are having like back spasm all the time for whatever, you know, chronic conditions, and they don't want to be on opioids.

24:10.24

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

24:25.90

Sue

You know, they don't, they don't want to be on pain medicine. It makes them feel gross or, you know, gives them side effects or are they just, don't want to be tied to that and, you know, going on, you having CBD and CBD oils and, you know, gummies, all the different things, you know, to help them sleep and all that is,

24:44.51

Sue

um much better of an alternative for them, you know, so they can go into the dispensaries and actually, you know, they're just so well educated in there, they can say, you know, I don't want to smoke, I want to just eat gummies or chocolate or whatever.

24:58.10

Sue

And I need it for anxiety, or I just need it for sleep, or I only need it for back pain, but I don't want to feel sleepy, you know, while I'm at work.

25:05.71

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

25:06.60

Sue

And, you know, so they'll know exactly what direction, you know, back in the day, when when pot, you never know, what you were getting if you smoked a joint, right? It's like, you didn't know if you're gonna get laugh all day or get paranoid or fall asleep, right?

25:20.23

Sue

now they Now they have that all down, right? So you can actually know what's gonna happen.

25:26.90

Karen Seinor

It's good, isn't it? Yeah. so Someone got me onto to a place in here in Australia. It's... um

25:35.05

Sue

Is it legal in Australia?

25:37.85

Karen Seinor

No, you can actually, yeah, you can. it's It's a little tricky, I think, but there's a place called the Ubuntu, so U-B-U-N-T-U Wellness Clinic, and it's in New South Wales.

25:42.49

Sue

Okay.

25:49.77

Karen Seinor

And you actually have a – we don't have nurse practitioners here, but a clinical nurse, you know, um does the um session with you, and you do get a script, and so you will – send like for for example i had ah a period of time where i was having a lot of stress and um i actually contacted them and i got these purple dot cookies that's what they called them and i had to take i'm not very i'm not very uh good at um handling medication so she said to me i'll just take one quarter of a cookie and you know these small cookies

26:35.66

Karen Seinor

And I chopped it into four. My God, I've never slept like that. It was amazing. I just had it with a cup.

26:42.10

Sue

It's terrific.

26:43.33

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

26:44.04

Sue

It's terrific. I would much rather hand out licenses than give any kind of opioid or any pain medicine to someone for chronic things, you know?

26:51.02

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

26:53.46

Karen Seinor

Yeah. And it was great because it got me through that period of time and boom.

26:58.01

Sue

Sure. And then you're done.

26:59.10

Karen Seinor

just

26:59.53

Sue

Yeah.

26:59.84

Karen Seinor

The lady who got me onto that, heard her dad had been ill for a long time and she was speaking to me about this stuff. They call it bone oil. So it's it's actually and and oil. It's got the THC in it and she would rub it into his body for to reduce the pain and he would sleep.

27:20.89

Sue

Yes.

27:21.02

Karen Seinor

And um I actually got some of that to try, a little sample, and it was, oh, my gosh, gonk, gone.

27:22.13

Sue

Great.

27:29.89

Karen Seinor

I think it was a bit stronger even than the the cookies were. But...

27:35.62

Sue

Anytime alternative, you know, works. I mean, I incorporated lot of times into my practice. Like if somebody is coming in with back pain or muscle pain, I'm like, it by go buy peppermint oil at the health food store. It's $10 a bottle.

27:49.57

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

27:49.68

Sue

You know, put it right on that, your lower back. It penetrates. It lasts for four or five or six hours. It's a strong anti-inflammatory.

27:55.92

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

27:57.22

Sue

You don't have to take ibuprofen, mess up your stomach, wash your hands after with soap and water so you don't get it near your eyes. But it's like, that's my go-to.

28:03.16

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

28:04.98

Sue

You know, I go to acupuncture. I go to physical therapy. I get a massage. I use peppermint oil.

28:08.98

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

28:10.18

Sue

I don't ever hardly ever use ibuprofen, anything like that. It's not that I'm against it because there's a time and place for everything.

28:13.94

Karen Seinor

Yeah.

28:16.53

Sue

It's just that there's a million different things you can do.

28:20.21

Karen Seinor

Yeah, yeah, exactly.

28:24.13

Karen Seinor

Well, you've peaked my interest and I sort of can't wait now to get on Google and go, Tell me more about... the um Yeah.

28:35.69

Karen Seinor

Now, what's the name of this German fellow again? Can you tell me his name again just so that it's stuck in my mind?

28:40.46

Sue

Peter Mandel. So it's Peter and then M-A-N-D-E-L.

28:45.43

Karen Seinor

Yeah. Beautiful.

28:46.55

Sue

And then it's the Mandel Institute in Germany.

28:49.99

Karen Seinor

Yeah, beautiful. Thank you, Sue. All right. So we'll just sort of like wrap it up here because you've given us a beautiful little look into what colour puncture is and the fact that it is huge.

29:05.65

Karen Seinor

And, um yeah, thanks for talking about the other bits and pieces that you're doing. And I'm really excited to see what happens for you in Hawaii and with your clinic.

29:10.08

Sue

Sure.

29:15.49

Sue

Thank you.

29:18.83

Sue

Thank you.

29:19.03

Karen Seinor

So i we'll catch you maybe another time and get a bit of an update on how everything's going.

29:24.00

Sue

Okay. All right. Thank you for having me.

29:27.87

Karen Seinor

Thank you. See you. Bye.

29:29.82

Sue

Take care. Bye-bye.
