A Tarot Spread for the Summer Solstice
Here is a ten card Tarot Spread to help you celebrate the Summer Solstice as well as the summer itself. This card layout is designed to help you embrace all the positive energy of the season and highlight where the lessons might lie over the coming months..
To get the most out of this Tarot spread, make a space for yourself where you can do your card reading without interruption. You might sit out on your verandah in the morning light before it gets too hot, or do it in the evening before the light goes down. As you do, hold the idea in your mind that this is your time, and that this space in which you sit with your Tarot cards is a sacred space.
Shuffle your cards, cut the deck into three piles moving to the left, and then put them all back into one stack - but in a different order, so that the cards are really being thoroughly mixed. Once that is done, cut the deck in half and choose which half you will draw the cards for your layout from.
Spread the cards face down on the table. Choose the ten cards, one at a time with your left hand. Place each one face down in a line from left to right, or if you prefer, lay them out in a circular pattern. Once all 10 cards are laid out face down, you can then turn card number 1 face up and interpret its meaning. Once this is done, repeat the process with each of the remaining cards.
1. How can I best embrace the abundant energy of summer in my life?
2. What creative opportunities are available to me during this season?
3. In what areas of my life can I nurture growth and abundance?
4. What should I focus on releasing or letting go of to make space for new blessings in my life this summer?
5. How can I align myself with the natural rhythms and cycles of the summer season?
6. What guidance do I need to fully embrace the joy and vitality of this time of year?
7. What can I do to cultivate a deeper connection with nature and the elements during the summer months?
8. What new beginnings or opportunities are on the horizon for me in the coming season?
9. How can I best express gratitude for the blessings and abundance in my life at this time?
10. What lessons can I learn from the energy of the sun and the fullness of the summer solstice?
I recommend that you record the spread in your Tarot Journal, with the date you did the spread and your interpretation of each of the ten cards. It’s always wonderful to be able to look back and see how things happened - a great thing to do in the dead of winter when it’s easy to see because you have that distance from summer. Hindsight is a great teacher.
Enjoy!
