Winter Tarot Spread
As I write this, it’s half past five in the afternoon and it feels like night has already fallen, although the sky still has some light in it. Wood smoke is drifting across the rooftops from people’s chimneys, and a step outside is a step towards cold in the bones. So, it’s chilly here, but a perfect evening for a Tarot card reading.
Remember to make a space for yourself, both physically and energetically in order to give yourself a good reading. Shuffle your Tarot deck thoroughly, while focusing you mind solely on the reading that it is be done.
Once the cards are well shuffled, lay them all out face down, kind of like you are a dealer in a casino so they fan out (it looks pretty cool, and makes it easy to choose them one at a time.). From here, you choose all seven cards, and pick each one with your left hand and lay them face down.
Here comes the fun part! Read about card #1 (the main theme) and then turn the first card over and allow its meaning to rise up into your consciousness. Allow the image to answer the question that is posed in the position descriptions. Sit with it for a while if you need to, and then jot down a few notes in your Tarot Diary (or note book) about what you feel the card is telling you in relation to its position in the spread. Repeat this process for all of the seven cards in this spread. I suggest taking a photo of the face up cards and if you can, pop the picture in your Tarot diary with your interpretations and be sure to date it.
You can come back and reflect on this spread as winter closes and Springs opens up. It’s always great to look back and notice what you’ve gained. For now though, begin your reading!

As always, if you’d like to have a personal one to one reading interpreted by me, just book a spot online, I’d love to read for you. If you’re interested in getting really good at interpreting your Tarot cards, you can access the pre-recorded Tarot training as well as the Tarot Masterclasses that are available in the Shop.
Note: The Tarot deck used in this example is the Pagan Otherworlds Tarot Deck by Uusi. It is beautiful, and also available in Australia, but here is a list of international retail outlets that include Oz, just in case you are from away.
Well Im off to write my own reading down in my Tarot diary. Have a wonderful weekend my friends.
Warmest,
Karen
