Meditation with a Purpose

Meditate for Peace

A universal symbol of peace

Physicists have established that every living thing gives off vibrations. Many of these physicists, as well as other scientists, like psychiatrist Carl Jung, also believe in a collective consciousness – that on some level, all human beings are mentally connected to one another. By using energy to cause a ripple towards a certain idea, like peace, we can have an impact on the world around us, and perhaps even the actions that people take. Now that might sound a little wild, but experiments with group peace meditations have revealed some compelling results.

For example, when violent crime was occurring at an alarmingly high rate in Washington, D.C. in the early 1990’s, a peace meditation group got together. On the days that they met, crime rates notably decreased. Subsequent studies have shown no other reason why this would have happened at the time. When the group stopped meeting, the crime rates rose back to their previous rate. Now isn’t that a little bit of magic right there?

So what do you think? Should we be doing peace meditations in our community? Would you be up for that?

Check out this YouTube video, it’s an older recording so not perfectly clear but the information is pretty wow. Check it out here.
